Gabriel's Place Celebrates Seasonal Food

A group of Cincinnati residents will be celebrating food that's in season, notably lettuce and asparagus, through a free community event taking place Saturday, May 19 10 a.m. to noon. Dubbed Food Revolution Day, the event aligns with the nonprofit's mission to fulfill the common goal of becoming a sustainable community space in the neighborhood of Avondale. It is looking to create this space through a community garden, hoop house to provide fresh produce year-round, community kitchen and marketplace to encourage economic empowerment, access to whole foods and goods, social interaction and a source of pride.
