Stakeholder News
Curator's Notes
We are pleased to have the opportunity to repost and share with you a blog by Beth Kanter on curating. While her entry is about the use of curating for non-profits the ideas and advice she shares are practical for all organizations.

On Jan. 30, I’m speaking at the Social Media for Nonprofits conference in New York City. This year, since content curation is a social media competency that I’m focusing in my own learning and teaching, I’ll be doing a conversational presentation on the topic. Here’s why I think content curation, especially the practice, is very important for us to embrace in the nonprofit sector:

The long-term care sector has large role to play in the greater health-care continuum, and having a Stakeholder News program is one way to share successful breakthroughs being made.

Maputo, Mozambique — I came to Africa with one purpose: I wanted to see the world outside the perspective of European egocentricity. I could have chosen Asia or South America. I ended up in Africa because the plane ticket there was cheapest.
Stakeholder News
What’s a hashtag? Well, if you’re attending an upcoming social media workshop to advance the inclusion of people who have a disability, it’s not only a valid question but a tagline that will allow you to follow the events remotely via Twitter.
Last fall Axiom News journalist Camille Jensen was invited by David Stephens, special advisor to Muhammad Yunus, to attend a university social business competition in Atlanta where she had the opportunity to interview Yunus, a Nobel laureate and renowned social business leader in person.
Stories of great philanthropic effort have the power to motivate and inspire readers, and that’s exactly what happened with human resources manager Christine Babic from Brookfield LePage Johnson Controls Inc., (BLJC) when she read an article on the company’s internal news program Insights.
Editorial
In our stakeholder newsroom we handle hundreds of leads and stories a month from people who work in, receive care from, or have family members receiving long-term care.
Briefs
On Friday the Axiom News team said so long to generative journalist Deb Bartlett, who is on a new adventure. Showing her strength in writing on a variety of subjects, Deb’s byline has appeared on most of our client sites including Community Living Ontario, the Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion, posAbilities, the Ontario Long-Term Care Association and OMNI Health Care. In addition to her newsroom skills, we enjoyed Deb’s ability to convene coffee breaks and social time in our Peterborough office. We wish Deb the best and thank her for all her contributions.
We Recommend
While this video is geared towards public relations, we see a lot of similarities in how organizations embracing Stakeholder News can become the news curator for their organizations and broader movements.
