Axiom News is pioneering a new combination of strategic questioning, story-sharing, and micro media to catalyze positive change in organizations. We call it Generative Journalism.
Generative Journalism is founded on the principles of Appreciative Inquiry, a strengths-based, capacity building approach for transforming organizations toward their highest potential.
Generative Journalism begins with discovering the stories and shared experiences that illustrate and evoke the best in your organization. As stories are woven together, an organization builds strength upon strength, creates new knowledge, begins to think generatively, and act towards its fullest potential.
Every day our trained journalists reach out to your stakeholders for stories of their successes, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the new things they’ve learned together.
Each story, shaped within the framework of your key strategic activity areas, becomes a real-life illustration of the progress your community members are making. Once written, every story is posted on your Internet website, at least three times a week, often including photographs and links to related stories.
As this happens the people we’ve spoken with will visit the site, share their stories by printing them out or emailing them around, reinforcing their relationships with one another. Your news will become self-distributing.
As the online story archive grows, a knowledge bank full of anecdotes, contact names, and searchable know-how is created.
Your community will become better at self-organizing and will adapt to change much more quickly. An even more cohesive culture and sense of shared history will be created.
As a leader you will learn of new opportunities, trends and champions earlier, enabling you to get involved and support people who are doing the right things.
Generative Journalism is a complex and organic process. It often creates new knowledge and stakeholder successes in ways you may never have considered.
