PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - On a Tuesday morning, Grade 3 students at Rhema Christian School in Peterborough are using the whiteboard surface on their tables to work out answers to math problems.

The Guardian reports the U.K.'s Barclays bank is offering £1.25M (C $1.9M) to parents hoping to set up free schools. The article reports in addition to this money, which is likely to be awarded in £5,000 grants, the bank is giving free financial advice to academies and free schools as well as offering 3,000 teens up to three weeks of work experience in its branches. A coalition education policy in Britain permits parents, charities and businesses to establish free schools.
