A 2010 consumer report highlighted that $8 billion was lost in unredeemed gift cards. Over half of those consumers surveyed indicated that they did not have time to redeem their gift card. The next highest group said they forgot they had the gift card, followed by those whose gift card was lost or expired.

On Jan. 26 I had the great privilege of being amongst a select group of co-operative leaders, including the International Co-operative Alliance's (ICA) Dame Pauline Green, who witnessed U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron admit to the failures of the capitalist model and announce long-awaited reform of co-operative legislation.
